The holiday time is limited and we have to travel even if it's raining, but the two planned places, Phoenix Mountain and Wulong Mountain, will have to wait for another time, and it will be dangerous to climb the mountains in the rain, so it's better to go for a walk along the river.
Every time I come back to see the Yalu River for a few moments, it has become an important ritual for many years, so I have walked up and down the river almost all the time, still missing a volunteer park?
I've been to Volunteer Park before, but it's still a completely different place. It was called Pearl Park then, but in the past two years it's been rebuilt as a theme park for the spirit of anti-American aid. This time I came here to have a good look and feel.
The park covers an area of 13 hectares. After the renovation, the park has changed its greenery and landscape, and seven new sculptures on the theme of the spirit of anti-American aid to Korea have been added, including "The Volunteers", "Crossing the Yalu River", "Support", "The First Battle", "Peace", "Aid for Life" and "The Cuckoo is Red", all created by the creative team of the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts.
The park is now another red cultural landmark in Dandong and an educational base for learning about the spirit of anti-American aid and Party history. The park is full of green grass and trees, and although the theme is serious, the overall atmosphere is still relaxed, and people can get a spiritual baptism while strolling around the park for leisure and entertainment, not forgetting the original heart, always being grateful and cherishing the present moment~
We walked in with Ruyi in the rain, the park was fresh in the rain and there were many visitors, even two small groups of swimmers swimming in the river, the temperature, awesome! Of course the Yalu River winter swimmers are the real deal, wait for the winter shots to show you.
We walked along comfortably, taking pictures of the beautiful river scenery, the nice hydrangeas and the memorial sculpture ...... when we met a park manager who told us that dog walking was not allowed here.
Oh, it just occurred to me that a park with such a solemn theme is supposed to have such a rule, okay, okay, I'll send him out right now! But how come the entrance isn't written? We're halfway through the park, so sending him out now would be like walking through the park. ......
I'm a good law-abiding citizen and took him out quickly the second half of the way, or I asked Mr for a photo of the back to make up for it~
The riverfront along many places with coins with a telescope can always grasp the dynamics of the other side of the river, J carrying binoculars will be a little more convenient. The park has not a lot of cultural sights, but the broken bridge or the moon island can be seen with coins.
